ARC Raiders · Anti-Cheat
What Anti-Cheat Does ARC Raiders Use?
ARC Raiders uses Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC), a kernel-level anti-cheat from Epic Games, combined with Embark Studios' own machine-learning detection trained on player input telemetry. Embark also runs additional undisclosed layers and has said it is testing a new kernel-level solution. Below: what each layer checks, how bans work, and how to fix common EAC errors.

- Primary anti-cheat: Easy Anti-Cheat (Epic Online Services), kernel-level
- Second layer: machine-learning models on aim and movement telemetry
- Extra undisclosed in-house and partner layers
- Virtual machines are not allowed and can trigger anti-cheat action
- New kernel-level solution in testing (announced by Embark, May 2026)

Does ARC Raiders use Easy Anti-Cheat?
Yes. ARC Raiders is built on Unreal Engine and ships with Epic Online Services, including Easy Anti-Cheat. EAC starts a kernel driver when the game launches and checks for known cheat signatures, memory tampering, injected modules and suspicious drivers. If the EAC service is missing or damaged, the game will not start.
Is ARC Raiders anti-cheat kernel-level?
Yes. EAC runs at kernel level (ring 0), the same privilege level as Windows drivers. Embark has also publicly stated it is testing an additional kernel-level solution, so protection is expected to get stricter over time.
Machine-learning and telemetry detection
On top of EAC, Embark analyses how your aim and movement behave over many matches using machine-learning models. Instant snaps, perfect tracking through cover or a very wide aim FOV look statistically different from human play, which is why server-side detection can flag accounts even without a client signature.
How ARC Raiders bans work
Detections are usually not instant. Accounts are often flagged and banned in waves, and bans can apply to the Embark account. Embark's help centre states virtual machines are disallowed. Appeals go through Embark support, not Epic.
Fixing ARC Raiders Easy Anti-Cheat errors
Most 'EAC not installed' or 'untrusted system file' errors are fixed by verifying game files in Steam, running EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe from the game folder with 'Repair', and disabling overlays or tools that inject into the game. See our Easy Anti-Cheat repair guide for step-by-step fixes.
